Wife and I decided to head to the u.p. this last saturday at 11:00 a.m (labor day weekend). Holy smokes ...Lake superior is incredible. the pictured rock boat tour in Munising is money well spent and the glass bottom boat (shipwreck) tour for 28 bucks is just as good. The scenery is indescribeable. The rest of the time we spent on Bass lake near Palmer visiting friends. averaged 8.53 miles to the gallon but I was driving pretty fast. (65-70mph)I am from Michigan but I have to tell ya it does not feel like Michigan all the way up here.

Kris and Tina, I have the "sister ship" to yours and was wondering if you found some unusual buttons that didn't know what they were and if you figured them out....cause I got a few I don't know what they are.

Although the roof line and outside light is different, it was still made for the Great State of Texas! Cool

Never did post any pix for this trip so here goes. It looks like I have a touch of the brown bottle flu here but I was recovering the best I could. This is Tina and my pride and joy Spiegel. (Can you tell she wants for nothing?) this photo is from Bass Lake south of Marquette.

(A buddy of mine) Mike and I on a glass bottom boat tour in Munising. I am the one with the glasses that nearly shattered the camera lens. That is Grand Island in the background. If you ever get the chance, You will never forget it. This shipwreck tour was incredible,...the boats dont deteriorate because the water is too cold. It is like being in a time machine! The pictured rocks tour is supposed to be equally spectacular but we ran out of time.

Having been in all 50 states and almost all Canadian provences and much of Mexico, I have this to say.

You all need to shutup about the UP. It is one of the real treasures of this country and I would like to see it remain that way. So don't go telling the world about it. Let's keep it for our selfs.
