Everglades City
Arrived at the Everglades Isle RV resort. Very nice place with a marina on the river.

Clubhouse and pool:

Streets and sites are nicely landscaped with pavers.

A nice site on the marina wall:

Lots of Everglades airboat tours:

Tom and Nancy, Nick and Donna got here a short time ahead of us. Here's "Barth alley"

Finally, sunshine, 80 degrees, good friends. Life is good.

Have Barth, did travel.

Just talked to Lenny and he said him and Judy are going down to see you guys today. I'd love to make it but work calls. Nice looking park, how pricey is it?

Day rates $79-119 weekly $500-650 monthly $1600-2100 depending on waterfront, etc. Very well maintained and landscaped. Clubhouse is really nice, pool, hot tub, fancy showers, bar. Nicer and cheaper than the place in the Keys.

Johns and Cagles are leaving tomorrow so we're taking an air boat ride this morning, L&J are coming this way for lunch. I'll post pics later.

Always a good time with our Barth buddies. cheers

Steve

Are you going to stay there for the Winter instead of your spot in the lower keys?

Liz and I are staying till the weekend, then heading for the Keys on Saturday. Might be a choice for next year, though!

This morning we went for an air boat ride, right across from the RV park.

Everglades City:

The river is fairly wide but quickly gets narrow, with channels through the mangrove trees and grassy flats.

The driver was very skilled and we made it through without touching one branch! With aviation style headsets we could all talk without excessive prop noise. Nice ride.

The happy crew:

Shortly after we returned, Lenny and Judy arrived for lunch and stayed for a while. Another good day for all.

Life is good.

There's so many Cajuns around here we didn't know who to chum in! We've had the usual great time.

The only downside to the marina wall is the noise of the airboats, they run from 9 to 5 but gave us plenty of opportunity to show off our fine coaches as they went by. We had many high-fives and thumbs-up from the boats!
