Originally, I'd expected to be home 6/3, but my building contractor for the first 2 structures at Deerlick wasted no time, so I took the side trip to Ft. Walton Beach for the trannys-plant, 2 days with the Cagles at Winfield COE park on Lake Strom Thurmond, now back to Deerlick; concrete pours tomorrow. Now I plan on return home Tues or Weds. Oddly enough, when the Buckeye Star Party was on, that would have been the return date.

Dogs' claws need clipping, they're overdue for baths, and Nick and Donna's grandaughter Mallory's grooming of Maggie and Casey has worn off...

Deerlick Astronomy Village, near Raytown, GA, which is near Sharon, GA, which is near Crawfordville, GA, which is not really near anything. It's about 35 miles west of Nick Cagle.

I have 2A here, and have started on the first 2 structures, a 40'x60' Man Cave and a 16'x36' RV port.

Strange, when I looked yesterday he wasn't there, but all the others opened up to show a pic of the owner(s).

Perhaps they are updating. Hope Rusty sends pics for us to see his new pad!!

Currently back up at the observing field after the concrete was poured. I'm waiting now for it to dry enough to hit with the floats. I'll be back down there around 4 PM.

Got a few pix of the Pouring Ceremonies.

Beautiful place Rusty...and what a great idea! I live out in the country as you know, and love having a dark sky. But it seems that expecting it to stay that way is wishful thinking...even in Fort White. Too much growth coming eventually. Glad you're getting started with the new place. Sounds like a terrific plan.

Home again, home again, jiggety-jig! Got home today after an uneventful trip from Deerlick (except for having to put the exhaust extension back on after the Raceway driveway dip took it off - 10 minutes, 102°...)

101° when I got home.

New tranny/TC has (apparently) improved fuel consumption from 10.5 mpg avg, to 11.5+ mpg... Thumbs Up

Looks great Rusty! You might be the only person in the South, other than Disney, building new construction in this economy.

So is the Man Cave where you Barth ends up? How does your setup work?

My other money-pit hobby besides astronomy is model railroading (G-gauge), and the Man Cave will give me room for a decent layout.

If weather is bad and I need to work on one of the vehicles, the rollup door allows me to get the thing inside.

The LOA covenants require a cover for RVs, so StaRV II will park there.
