Was the GMC the one using the Tornado drive train? I have seen some in the long long ago and they were really attractive from the outside, did not meet the owner so no interior tour other than brochures. I think these were early 1970s.

Tere and I looked at them before we bought our Monaco Dynasty in 2004. The front wheel drive system borrowed from the Tornado and the lack of outside storage were the two downsides for us. There was a place near Lake Okeechobee that renovated them. Of course, all this was before Barth. There's nothing like a Barth.

In the late 60s & early 70s there was small RV with a Tornado
front wheel drive. If I remember correctly it was a 1969 21'
ASTEC. The selling feature was a shop could lift the front of
the coach up and remove the axle, wheels, engine and the
tranny as one unit. AND it had an eight track sound box with
the radio.......................................Carl
P.S. those of you who knew Bill H. he also had an ASTEC

Carl, good to hear from you. Your mention of Bill Henneberg brought memories of correspondence he and I shared. Gone too soon.

Thank you. The correct name of the RV I had was Cortez. At 90 years old I'll admit I'm not as sharp as I used to be.

Thanks again................................Carl
