Bill, does that look like a pusher to you? The windshield looks like a wide body.

Based on the hump in the center I would guess that it's a gasser puller.

Bill, the seller sent me four additional photos. Do you want me to send them to you? I'm still not sure about the floor plan, but it's a strange one indeed, with no front passenger seat. It also has a tag axle, so I'm guessing at least 30'. He also claims it's a 350.

I received another email from the seller, who I believe might be a dealer in the Battlecreek area. He says that it is 34' long, "maybe 36", has 29000 miles on it, and is priced at $27000. Still don't know the configuration of the bedroom and bath. Will post the pics as soon as I figure out how to do it. I doubt that it's a 350. Will try to confirm. Never have posted pics before so will read the directions.

I wondered if this was a coach that had come up some time back. It is. Same picture is posted on the data tag list. Data Tag is 9705-M0031-34FF-2C.

Of course there's no NADA for a gas powered 34' Barth made in '97. Will try to get the data tag from the seller and post it. This actually is a very interesting Barth. Were the sides and roof aluminum in that year?
BTW, I'm quite proud of myself, having followed Bill's tutorial to upload these to Photo Bucket and put them in the post. Doesn't take much for a 71 year old to be proud. It will wear off quickly, I promise Wink

Scrooge here.

Overpriced.

Lame floor plan.

Particularly hard to understand, given the ample length.

Jim,

We own a 97 DP 34' Monarch.

Yes, the sides and roof are aluminum, and aluminum framed. Only the front end got a fiberglass cap.

The sides are buck riveted at every stud, just like most Barths. Most knowledgeable Barth folks that have been in our (at 4 gatherings now), state that it is 100% Barth in regards to woodwork, Corian counters, tile work, quality of materials in general.

I believe Barth was attempting to "Get modern" with the late model units. A small and failed attempt to compete with the majors of the time. I know that our unit was painted with Sikkens paint, and any that have seen it will attest it shines like new (even dirty!). An unconfirmed rumor is that Barth went to a German supplier for a special aluminum sandwich. I can't confirm or deny, but I can't see how a sandwich could get buck riveted, so I think it is a single ply aluminum siding. Perhaps someone confused Sikkens as German, although I believe it is from Holland. Or, perhaps the aluminum sheet came from Germany.

Some major differences I notice from our DP are 1) tag axle, 2) Hump and grill openings, 3) Laminate vs Corian, 4) Inexpensive cabinetry, 5) Cheap faucet, 6) No front air (but is it possible it is central air?), 7) No day/night blinds, 8) inexpensive, cloth seats.

Over all, this appears to be an entry level Barth. I've not seen another gasser in the late model config, but one must presume there are more out there.

The bottom line, as we all know - the skeleton is as good as it gets. With that in mind, if someone wants a gasser, why not?

Nick, what does that data tag tell us about length and engine and chassis? With the basement storage in the pics, wouldn't it be something other than a P chasis?
