Hi Jim, my 1992 28' Breakaway chassis was built by Spartan in 1991. Sounds like they are almost Identical. I have 50 amp, but there is two air cond. Ours has about 93000 miles on it. The black hills gtg was about a 1200 mile trip for us and the 5.9 didn't use a drop of oil. I sure don't see anything wrong with this motor.GVW on mine is 16,000.About two months ago, I had to order a new fuel gage sending unit. I ordered it from Spartan. I asked the Spartan rep, which chassis I had, and he told me that mine is an EC2242. I told him I had no clue what he is talking about, and he told me it was a spartan 2000 series. One thing, you should have the right wiring schematics for it.
Good luck.
Ken
