NOT a Monarch: Front engine; middle side door entrance; tag axle. Monarch front end cap, paint scheme, and exterior siding. I reckon this is a machine cobbled together from left-over parts when Barth went under in 1997. Also: probably a P-30 Chevy with 454, thus the tag axle (NOT a "dsl"); perhaps it is a Dodge chassis with a Cummins?
As Alice would say "curiouser and curiouser"

It is very possible (even likely) that Barth DID identify this unit as a MONARCH, and may also have designated it "DSL" based on the floor plan. I doubt the current seller means diesel.

Never the less, I agree that some of the very late Barth production fell far short of the earlier quality. Such was the case with the one I had inspected a few years ago at Marshall, Michigan.

I think all of the "recreational" coaches built by Barth RSV they considered "Monarchs," except the "specialty" command centers and the trolleys.

We have seen a couple with GM chassis, Ford chassis. I would be surprised if this one was actually a diesel puller.

My 97 Monarch was not built to the same standards as my 86 Regal. Numerous examples, including cabinet quality, tile grouting, crooked switchplates, no insulation in roof or walls.

There were a few MHs built with chev chassis and 6.5T diesels. Never heard of a Barth with one.
