Nice coach with 78,000 miles.
Mechanically sound with over $8,000 invested in repairs. Coach has full air suspension and 4 wheel disc brakes.
Brake rotors, calipers, and pads new along with rebuilt master cylinders
Bilstein shocks and wheel bearings.
Last trip to Minneapolis (over 4000 miles) on Mississippi River roads without problems.
Did not use a quart of oil, and got 10 miles per gallon.

This Barth was post before! 06-03-2018
95 Barth for sale

In that listing it was stated that it had a 4 speed Allison. Engine is listed as 210 HP 5.9L Cummins. Owner has some question or confusion about the model. It is a Breakaway, doesn't matter the length this one is 31', front entry.

This coach is confusing. The MT542 was used with the 190hp engine. Also in '93 they started using the WT3000 6 speed with 230hp.

Full air suspension and disc brakes? Breakaway has discs but not air suspension. Full air rigs usually have drum brakes....

The air suspension for the breakaways were furnished by Granning. And the brakes are air over hydraulics and are 4 wheel disc.

Just so we can't say they are all the same---our Breakaway has full air suspension and air operated drum brakes.

There were a few 28'-30'Breakaways with full air suspension and 19.5 wheels. Quite a few 32' and longer with full air suspension and drum brakes. Longer Breakaways with leaf spring suspension usually had air/hydraulic brake systems.

Cost and availability for having an adequate drum brake system for 19.5 wheels was probably the driving factor on brake systems.

I have not seen short Breakaways with 19.5 wheels that had drum brakes.

As Bud says,"we can't say they are all the same"!

I just noticed a Alison at 542 transmission for a 1999 freightliner. I suppose what ever you wanted and your check book could afford would get you the Barth you wanted. I don't think I would have wanted to be Barth's purchasing agent. I can imagine all the headaches that would have went with that job.

The 542 was produced thru '99 when the 1000/2000 5 speeds replaced it.
