Is the data tag project listing for coaches updated when a coach is sold or ownership changed by inheritance or estate sale? I notice some of our lost friends are still shown as active.

Indeed, it is very outdated.
For example, it has been four years since Ric "Turtle" sold Doctor Yale's Breakaway 9109 (that I owned in between). I'm not aware if the current owner is in the forum.

Years ago, the project had several contributors. Most of them are gone as well. Nick Cagle was very involved for some time but he has not owned a Barth in some time and is busy with other things. Meanwhile Rusty and others who were involved are no longer with us at all.

The Data Tag listing is a fascinating study of the history of Barth coaches and owners. Since the coaches and owners come and go frequently, it is difficult to keep the list up to date. It is a constant labor of love, currently without a champion. I am not sure how much work is needed to make corrections/additions to the database, it is older and not necessarily user friendly.

Bill NY always has more to do than he needs and he tries to keep up with the site but the entering and editing as well as new entries takes time.

Meanwhile PhotoBucket has not accepted any new photos for several weeks. Old pics are displayed properly but no new ones are accepted. head bang

Steve, my take on the data tag was mostly accounting for the coaches produced, much like the Commander Club registry,
https://commanderclub.com/page/model-list production registered by size and production code. Common comment on both sites is, "What a difference between successive numbers . "

New data tags are updated as information is obtained. Old data tags are edited per request. Unless the new owner/old owner informs me of the sale I can't really track it any other way. All tags in there need to be coded with html language.

Here's an example of what's required to add a single coach to the data tag project. This one was also edited for Tom and Julie per their request dated 11/11/19 in a PM.

Trying to be diplomatic... some members do not want their names listed for their coaches. Some coaches have sold many times over. I only do if requested. Never as a first impulse.

If anyone wants to take a stab at letting me know what needs attention on the page I can make the updates as needed.

An example is Rusty's coach. I know who has it but no request has been made to update it.

Another is Bill H. No clue who has it now.

What do you think I should do with these tags?

a) (f/o)
b) just remove it
c) SOLD
d) Leave alone unless a request is made
e) Your Thoughts?????

I miss Rusty and Bill H.

Thanks so much for the attention Bill. Personally the data tags are interesting but for the amount of work I'm not sure.

Good point about privacy, some do not want to be known. For those who do, please let Bill know!

I miss Rusty and Bill as well...
Fortunately I got a chance to know Rusty and we (Liz and her driver, as he would say Smiler ) met with him many times over the years.

Bill I never met but I read every post and spoke to him on the phone a few times. I always wanted to meet him. A huge loss to our site.

I sent a photo to PB this morning, no sign of it yet... head bang

Hi Bill, I think the list is good for all to be able to compare year, models etc.

I would recommend to leave alone unless requested change is made by owner.

If unit is sold probably would be a good idea to indicate "SOLD" until the new owner requests to be added to a particular unit.

I have had a hard time getting people to respond to coaches that are still listed for sale after a couple of years.
