super bright star/planet
Rusty,

Every night between 7pm and 8pm there is a super bright star/plant that can be seen in the sky. You can see it by facing south it is in the west section.

I am curious because someone told me it is the space station that is reflecting the sun off of it.

Opps...posted this in wrong forum, meant it for the star gazing.

That's Venus. The ISS would be moving S to N (roughly), and would never appear stationary.

Thanks Rusty. I always knew that Venus was one of the brightest, however for the last several weeks it is the brightest I have ever seen especially around 7-8pm.

Venus can be the brightest object, after the Sun and Moon.

BTW, the next brightest is Jupiter, which now rises in the east after nightfall.
