I seem to recall that you have to change the orientation in Paint and save it, even if it comes up correctly the first time. Just opening and saving the file doesn't automatically reset the orientation info every time. Don't ask me why.

So:
1. Open file
2. Rotate 90 degrees (or whatever, just something to change the file)
3. Save
4. Rotate to correct orientation
5. Save

Changing the file name has worked for me in assuring you have saved a new file with the correct size and orientation. Then be sure to delete the old file. Deleting the old file will keep you from posting the wrong file.
Hey Quinn, where you "binn?"

Violence Recent posts from our forum indicate photos are going somewhere but never Thumbs Down end up in Bill NY's Photobucket account. Please be aware that photos sent in the email need the subject line exactly the same as the folder you are placing the photos in. Subject line is CaSe sensitive. Your personal data supplier, may also be a weak link. For example some wifi connections will not upload photos. Try resizing even though Photobucket does that for us. Let us know what works for you.
Click If there are other options that we can entertain please speak up. Click Keep in mind if we change or Computer abandon hmm Photobucket we will need to change the links for 2.4K in data of photos we have linked to Photobucket to another photo host.

With over 900 photos in PB now, I am also about spent. While we are stuck with PB for existing links, I wonder if there is a better choice for future links.
Still don't have good wifi here yet, working on a hot spot soon.
I am lucky to get 1/3 of my pics to appear on PB the first time. I too am about fed up with it. When I get my hot spot I will maybe try again.
As the number above proves I have been patient but life is too short for this waste of my time head bang

Can we upgrade our PB account to solve this problem? Yes, it requires money. If it can be done, an email to Barth supporters asking for a commitment of maybe $10 a year would tell us if we can afford it. There is no free lunch.

This may sound complicated but it would be free and easy to do and use.

Open a free email account on yahoo or other email account, everyone here can create their own folder and put whatever in it, to post just make a link to that item. the password would be shared though, making a hack pretty easy.

Jut a thought...

Only problem there is the future of all the photos would depend on maintaining that address. Also, not sure if the free services would allow that many bytes of storage. hmm

I just got a wifi hotspot up and running. Sent a single photo to PB. Then sent a batch of three. The single one hasn't shown yet, but ONE of the other three made it. head bang Deadhorse

Alternatives for our Images.

Yes there are alternatives. Could Free Image hosting lead to advertising? Will it end up like our current problem in our future? What is the catch with "FREE" as we all know there is NO FREE LUNCH.
We welcome suggestion ideas and conversation here to find an alternative. Let everyone here your thoughts.

Hey there, Thank you for reaching out to us. We've recently made changes to the site and all users are now able to upload original size images to their account. If you need to resize your images before linking them out to your website, you can do so by using the Transform feature in the Image Editor. You can resize your image by adjusting your image’s width or height under Lock Resolution. To resize your images, please do the following: 1. Check the box next to Lock Resolution 2. Adjust your images width or height by entering your preferred size. To make sure your image keeps the same ratio and is not distorted, please adjust either the width or the height, not both. *You may notice that the changes are not applied while you're adjusting the size, this is normal. The image will be adjusted once you Export it. Another option is to adjust your camera's resolution so it will take smaller pictures instead. You can then upload these images to your account without needing to resize them. You can read more about the features in the image editor in the link below. https://support.photobucket.co...obucket-Image-Editor Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Best,

.... so in order to save our gracious host Bill NY the trouble of resizing, get the size correct on your Photo Equipment.

The recommendation from our Superman HOST Bill NY is to get your photos to 1024 x 768 or smaller.
I use Paint program on my windows based computer to resize the photos. The photos taken with my Apple iPhone were way over 4000 pixels.

Unfortunately we're kind of stuck when it comes to PB. I've looked into alternatives. This is by far the most cost effective solution.

But, I'm open to suggestions that you're currently using and work well for you. So, if' you're happy with what you're using and you see a way to implement it on our site let me know.

PB is currently upgrading their platform and until they get the kinks worked out we'll have to deal with this inconvenience.

Here is my current email exchange. Keep in mind that we're also dealing with the weekend and Easter.

Hello,

Having an issue with my account. Mobile uploads are not resizing to 1024x768 that I've set. This is a recent issue.

Here is an example of what's happening.

Thank you for your attention on this matter.

Hey there,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We've recently made changes to the site and all users are now able to upload original size images to their account.

If you need to resize your images before linking them out to your website, you can do so by using the Transform feature in the Image Editor. You can resize your image by adjusting your image’s width or height under Lock Resolution.

To resize your images, please do the following:

1. Check the box next to Lock Resolution

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Best,

Moss@Photobucket Support

Moss,

Are you trying to tell me that the feature that resizes images automatically is broken now? We've always been able to limit the size to a set resolution until recently.

Bill

Hi Bill,

I'm not entirely sure where you got that from.

Previously Photobucket would not store the original sizes of images that you uploaded, only the reduced web versions. One of the most requested features was to store the original images which we have recently made this change.

If you need to resize your images to link them out, for the time being please follow the instructions in the previous email. After you import export the edited images you will find the new edited image in your main library.

Our teams are currently working on a feature so that you can link out your images at smaller sizes, however at this time I do not have a timeline that can be provided for when this will be completed.

Thank you.

Moss@Photobucket Support

Hello,

We haven't heard back from you in a few days so we're checking in with you! We're hoping this means our suggestions have worked, or you've answered your question yourself. If this is the case, well done! If your question is still unanswered, don't worry! You can reply back to this email and re-open the ticket, or if its been a while, it will open a new ticket.

Thank you,

Nope - still having issues.

Here are my settings

it'll size it to whatever we upload it at and ignores this setting.

Bill
