It looks Great!! I'm close to getting out the kilz soon.

Has anyone ever painted their formica counters? Mine are all dark brown almost black. If it's too much trouble or costly or doesn't last very long I will probably just leave them. If so what product was used.

It is so dark inside. 3 shades of brown; Dark Brown, Medium Dark Brown & Almost Black Dark Brown. It is depressing for me & did I say DARK. I may be painting all of the wood surfaces, which includes walls(no wall paper on ours), cabinets, cabinet doors, inside & out.

There are no false "floors" in the upper cabinets either. All of the electrical boxes & wiring for the lights under cabinets are all exposed. If you put anything up there it will lay on the wiring & exposed boxes. Weird.

Kils primer is the best idea. The painter used it to kill the glue residue from the wallpaper. I would not paint the counter tops. My painter used Benjamin Moore trim paint everywhere after the Kilz. Looks good now, and the test of time will decide what the jury has to say.

Tere, one of the majors in the Commander Club had a 38 with the formica laminate. He resurfaced the formica and really made a great difference. I think he described the steps but my guess is the post would be 25 or so years old. I may be able to find it but you may find something more easily and possibly more appropriate.

If/when Tere starts to paint the interior of her Barth (I think it is perfect the way it is), I will leave town permanently. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Jim, nono lighten up, with all the shades of Dungeon Brown, it looks more like a cave than a camper. One of the reasons I purchased my Barth is because of all the white cabinets, the white walls, and the white ceiling. I have changed the white floor tile and carpeting. White carpets do not work with muddy campsites.

Brown, all shades of brown, are my favorite colors. Reminds me of chocolate anything.

Brown, different shades reminds me of my work. Making videos of sewer pipes, chocolate that has traveled the intestine in someone before I see brown chunks stuck in the sewer pipe. Sometimes there are white mice in the clog.
Although the new cabinet is painted "BROWN" most of my coach is white inside. White walls are better for old eyes since white reflects light.

White reminds me of a hospital room. Please do not paint the cherrywood. Lighten up with colorful upholstery and a new countertop. Always loved the natural colors...

Thank you, Doris. I need all the support I can get. But, whatever makes Tere happy is ok with me.

I'm not going to do any painting for a while. The only real lighter color would be beige. I may look at some blues but not right now. I'm ready to take a trip. Buttoning everything up.

I just took off the mirrors. I'm getting them ready for paint as we speak. They'll be back on in a week.
