Oil Drain Plug and Sealing Washer on 3208 Cat
I have changed my oil several times in the past four years. The first time I changed the oil, I noticed the drain plus had some burrs on it. It was not easy to spin out without a wrench. I have been wanting to get a new drain plug. Fortunately for me the Ohio Cat Dealer is just over a mile away. Just for reference here in documents I am posting a picture of the of the drain plug and the copper washers for the plug.

If you ever search drain plug replacement for 3208 Cat (caterpillar) Part Number = 6V-1176
If you search Drain plug washer for 3208 Cat the part is J0 4E3 3B-1925 (Numbers on the bag)
I think the first number is a warehouse bin number. Anyone know for sure let us know in this post.

The first yellow picture of the drain plug package still needs a quarter turn clockwise.. or maybe it is just my PC. Sorry

The second picture was correctly turned by our host Bill NY? Well, maybe, the first picture needs a quarter turn on my PC, the second picture is correct. On my iPad the first picture is correct the second picture is in need of a quarter turn. I am looking at the Desktop PC and my iPad at the same time. And I just checked the laptop also. The laptop shows the top picture needs a quarter turn and the second picture is upside down. head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head bang head banghead bang head bang head bang head bang

I have replaced the drain plugs on all of my vehicles with Fumoto Valves. No wrenches needed to change oil and no mess either, you can let out as much or as little oil at a time as you want. I don't use a drain pan anymore, i drain it right into empty used oil jugs to take to a recycle place. Smiler

Where is the magnet? If there is a magnet, how do you get the metal particles off of it?
