Hi,
I have a1977 Barth 24' humpback that I bought from MattR nearly 2 yrs ago. Due to my best friend dying, then my Mom, last Uncle, my dog, and last Aunt life has been challenging.
Finally found a local fabricator willing to take on cutting out the steel above the windshield and fabricating new.
Had an auto glass guy out today to remove the windshields. He cut up the gaskets pretty bad which I wasn't too concerned about as I have read people used universal. Called Duncan systems and they want $475 for a 30' roll Eeeek!
Plus, the center gasket is worrying me if I can find a replacement for that. The glass guy said it is bonded to the rest of the seal , top and bottom.
Any thoughts?
The glass guy was young and in a hurry. I called them because his father was older and into vintage vehicles. Hoping to figure this out soon.
Thx!

Thanks for links. I have already scoured this site on the topic. Think I need a better glass guy.

Am I getting close in the gasket department? These seem similar to what was on the Barth.

I think there is a metal support in your center seal along with the rubber, PM MWrench I believe he found a source.

No I didn't find a source for the rubber surround or center section. Mine was old but OK. I had both windshields replace at Coach Glass. That is all they do is RVs and big vehicle glass. You might contact them.

My previous windshields were sourced from them by a local installer. This time I drove up there because I needed the front passengers side double pane window replaced and no one here locally wanted to touch that.

I had the windshields replaced in my 28' a little over a year ago. My glass guy found the fitted gasket. I'll ask him for his supplier's info. I need to do the same frame repair/ windshield and gasket replacement on the 33' now.

I did get the $450 molded gasket from Coach glass-their RV glass specialist division. The only thing it doesn't have is the same profile to fit over the center metal. Think I will be using a super strong 3M tape to hold the metal to the flat back of the center molding. Hope it holds well!
