Mike was the fan motor removed from the top or was the radiator removed? Ask your mechanic to take some pictures if he does not charge extra for pictures.
Is the motor on eBay a match?

Hi Mike. I ran across your discussion today while searching for a hydraulic fan motor for my Beaver RV 3208. My part number is the one you discussed. Did you ever find a motor or a suitable replacement? Just wondering. I have a call in to the company in North Carolina but am not too optimistic that they can help. Old rigs are great but sometimes finding parts is a pain.

Hello Mike, I have ticking/rattling sound coming from my Hyd fan motor. No leaks or vibration. I don't see a fan clutch on the fan or in the parts diagram. I am trying to figure out if this is something that needs immediate repair. I can do the repair myself but don't want to if it is normal. One post elsewhere said his did it for years and no problem. I appreciate any guidance you can give.
Thank you!

The mechanic is correct about noise. They are silent when working. As they are variable speed controlled by the transmission and the temperature sensor they are constantly changing speed to prevent overheating. Mine made the noise and was inconsistent. No leaks but there was a slight wobble in the shaft and that was where the noise came from. After changing, from the bedroom standing on my head for about four hours, all was corrected. You might also hear a scraping sound when the engine is running and that too was the fan itself. I strongly advise you to change it and sooner is better.
