We spent this past weekend at Lake Manatee State Park. Had a nice quiet trip but noticed something with the Coleman AC we never had in the past. About every 10 minutes or so the unit would go quiet for a second then kind of hum for about 3 seconds then start up and run fine again. It was a hot weekend and the AC was on 24-7 and kept the coach nice and cool, even with 90+ temps, but I was just wondering what the cycling might be. I did pop the coach circuit breaker for the AC once Saturday afternoon and once Sunday morning. I just turned the unit off and reset the breaker and turned the unit back on with no trouble. Not a big deal but of course we can't leave Sammi in the coach with this possibility. Anybody have any thoughts?

The freeze protection sensor is activating because frost is accumulating on the fins of the evaporator, or it may be defective and beginning to fail. It would normally stay in the active condition until the frost melts. In the Dometic it is a rod that is inserted into the fins of the evaporator and attached to the control box. When it happens just feel for ice on it. It could also occur if the unit is overcharged.
