All my symptoms point to the ignition switch but I am having trouble removing the old one. I have removed the plate on the dash the has the switch and the parking air brake mounted on it but the switch will not unscrew from the plate. Could it be stripped?

Also, any idea on how to find a new replacement, part number etc??

Not sure what style switch you have. Some require removal of the cylinder of the lock cylinder with a paper clip. Others are simply a threaded retaining ring.
