I love this coach, but I have not yet figured out how to make the two rear side beds into one bed. The extra mattress came with the coach and some steel bars that apparently fit across the span, but what does one use for support?

Duke the following message was emailed to me from Andy, Barth Ranger #1886

Dave

The two metal poles probably are for an aisle table that can be used when not traveling. There should also be the table top ( probably behind the sofa). You don't say how long the poles are, the ones I am referring to are about three feet long.

As for the mattress, I think that is pretty obvious, if you don't want it, pitch it!

The metal supports are as wide as the distance betweeen the two beds in the rear. I wanted to know if anyone else had this set-up and did they use a piece of plywood etc. for the third mattress to rest on. Actually it may be akward to have a abed all the way across in the back. One would have to be able to do a backward roll to use the bathroom in the night. Any tips on what types of batteries are the best? I have heard about gels and spirals- are they worth the investment.

Duke I got a second email from another Barth Ranger who also belives the there should be two holes in the floor between the twin beds and the metal poles are for a table in between the beds for card playing additional eating space etc. Did you look behind the sofa for a table top perhaps.

As far as batteries. A good quality beep cycle battery like a diehard will work fine. Alot of people like to use golf cart batteries but depending on what year your Barth is they probably won't fit. Don't blow the budget on batteries. Good Sears batteries should last years.
