Carl (with his diesel mechanic hat on) and Michael Radford -- the diesel mechanic who walked into our lives here in Hawthorne one cold day -- just tried the engine after having the injector pump rebuilt and replacing a bunch of stuff -- turned right over and is still running!! Hooray!! They're replacing the liquids and we are free to go!! Double hooray!!

So...if you ever have engine trouble somewhere near Hawthorne, Michael is the man to call. I'm sure Carl will be giving the information more fully, but I am just overjoyed that the Barth will run again!

All finished babbling, but so many of you gave us so much help and listened to the kvetching, that I wanted to share the joy!

Hey Carl:

So happy to learn the Cummins is purrin' again. I really wanted to get to Hawthorne to see you both but my time has not been my own lately.

Jane and I will be coming thru TX in late March, maybe we can hook up then, I was trying to get to Quartsite this Jan but that won't happen again either. :+(

Stay in touch as we will, Good luck and glad to have you back on the road again!!

Congrats Carl and Betsy!! Now it's back to the joys of the road.
We left home last Sunday morn and are currently spending a day in Las Cruces NM. Will likely head to Casa Grande tomorrow, then the daughter's house in Phoenix on Sunday for the Christmas season.
Any chance we will be anywhere close so we can meet up and celebrate?
We are looking at rv parks in NW Phoenix like Pioneer, Pleasant Harbor or most likely, Desert's Edge since they are (relatively) close to our kid's house.

It could have been a lot worse, glad you can rest easy for the holidays. It looks like you cleaned up on the "to do" list with this stop, good job!

Now what was Bill doing in the dessert, and why did he change his name to Michael?

Yep, the RV park is sad to see us go.

We were really looking forward to the FL GTG and were very disappointed that we had to cancel. Hopefully, we will make it to the Milford GTG.

Betsy & I are looking forward to meeting you when we cross paths. Your and Bill NY's advice about troubleshooting & repairing the fuel system was invaluable as it allowed me talk intelligently with our mechanic and the injection pump rebuilder. It also helped me weed out the guys who "talked a good story" but didn't know much about diesel fuel systems.

We will be in Texas during March and most of April and would like to meet you & Jane. Let us know where you will be if you are not passing near Livingston and we will arrange our own TX GTG. Knowing how fast you travel you may get to TX before us. Smiler
