My roof AC seems to start very hard. The Onan 6500 and the Preditor 3500 won't start it, and 30 amp campground connections will but sometimes it takes a couple tries. The capacitor in the unit is obviously an after market, and may not be the correct one, but I was thinking of trying a "slow start" capacitor that I've seen mentioned. Any help getting started on this?

I installed the Microaire easy starts on both of our Dometic units along with new capacitors. You can barely tell when the compressors kick on . I can now run both units at the same time on 30 amp service.

Danny is it the original Air? My 72 has the original functioning air. Model of inefficiency.

If you are a FMCA member there is a discount on the Soft start available.

I have been using the heat pump function often at the marginal low temp end and it really groans when starting. I am thinking about it on my Atwood AirCommands also. Please keep us informed on your decision. It’s on a long list of mods for me and no where near the top.
