I am confronted with a crashed original (1995 vintage) Heart Freedom 20 inverter/charger. I am looking at the choices that will fit into the existing under-bed mounting location, staying with the older modified sine wave technology which has served me well in the past.

My options appear to be the Xantrex 458 and the Magnum ME2012-20B. Both are 2000 watt - 100 amp.

1. I am leaning toward the Magnum for two reasons.

There seems to be a lot of people on the internet unhappy with Xantrex 458 reliability in recent years.

2. The Magnum -20B version has internal breakers for the two inverter-driven circuits, allowing me to discard the ac subpanel that the Xantrex requires.

Comments/Experience/Suggestions?
