I am trying to get historic plates for my 26'coach. Needs to be declared as such by an organization or club so the state will issue plate. Any suggestions will be welcomed

I am pretty sure Kevin did get historic on his and his is not nearly as vintage as yours. You might want to PM him and ask him?

It varies by state. In Michigan, over 25 yrs old, you can get historic plates cheap but you are limited to a very low number of miles annually.

Same in TN, no problems or questions, if it is over 25 years old you can get "Antique" plates but you can only drive it Sat and Sun, Club activities or maintenance (from to repair shop etc). You have to sign a form. No yearly renewal, permanent.

I have antique tags on my 73' Barth registered in Tennessee.
Wasn't any issue getting them and was told by the County Clerk that as long as it was not used for general transportation, it was OK. I signed the certification that stated

"I certify that I am the owner of the above described vehicle, which is over twenty-five years old and is owned solely as a collector’s item and will be used for participation in club activities, exhibits, tours, parades and similar uses, but in no event for general transportation, unless otherwise authorized by Tenn. Code Ann. Section 55-4-111. I further certify that upon the transfer of my interest in the vehicle, if the license plate with which my antique vehicle is registered is a vintage official Tennessee plate, and therefore my personal property, it will be removed; otherwise the antique plate issued by the State of Tennessee will be surrendered to my county clerk."

Every destination in a 50 year old motorhome, Barth or other brand, is considered an event. Also I don't recall ever stopping for gas or anything else, that it didn't draw interest and constitute an exhibit.
