Interesting, when I thought I had problems with my cruise I did a bunch searching trying to find info on our wheels. What I found was nonexistance of parts or replacements. Sounds like you came to the same ends. My problem was not the wheel so mute point.

I did find that there is an identical looking wheel. Probably what you found. It has a fast idle option built in. Either that or mine just doesn’t.

I took a quick look and most of the info I had found no long is there. I thought nothing ever goes away on the internet.

Long winded no help from me. Sorry

Hey Dana,
After doing quite a bit of research, I think I may have figured out more about how our system works and what will work with it. I tried to delete the post but couldn't, then I saw your post. What I am finding out may help you and Steve and others who have the BK series column and I will do an update on it soon. I have to talk with Spartan one more time and with VIP as well. More to come. thanks for the reply.

Very cool. I Know Steve does not have a Smart wheel. Just a Smart Liz’s driver Cool Cant remember if Wally has one. Jim Roller also don’t remember if his has. They will all be at the GTG.

Off topic are you coming to the GTG in June? We could discuss there. I definitely am interested in what you find.

Jim and I are not qualified for anything smart! ROTFLMAO (I can barely operate my phone!)

In this case I am OK with that since they are just one more orphan system to maintain. I have a basic wheel with Spartan logo in the center.

Hope to see everyone at the GTG. Jim left Sunday should be home tonight.

Have Barth, will travel, soon Tooling Along

Steve, where are your controls for engaging the cruise? And do you have a flash option for flashing (and I don't mean running down the road naked lol) either the headlights or the marker/clearance/running lights? The wipers I could envision being in the turn signal etc.

Cruise control switches (2) are on the side panel to the left of the driver, in front of the shift selector. Wipers and lights are on the lower left of the main panel. Also Pacbrake switch.

Clearance flasher switch is on the panel to the right of the wheel, in the row of switches. So far all are completely reliable.

Ok, thanks. The next time I see your coach I would like to see where everything is since I thought all Monarchs had the same wheel.

On a separate note, Yvonne and I were just talking about the summer GTG in Indiana, and I think we can attend. What is the latest? After reading the posts, can I assume everything is still a go?

Are you guys still in Florida? We came home early and got here a week ago today. We took 11 days and did some touristy things along the way.

We are still in Florida. Looks like we will leave on the 24th and take 4-5 days to head north. Kalkaska had snow yesterday and the lake is not completely thawed yet. Stubborn slow spring this year. I am in no hurry for that.

We are planning to attend the Indiana GTG. It is scheduled for the 11-15th of July. We will arrive on the 12th and stay Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. There are a few others with reservations but I am not sure what the total will be. The event was started on Faebook but there seems to be little discussion of it there. I was hoping to meet some new Barth owners from Facebook, but our site has had more actitivity. I am not very active on Facebook, perhaps others here can commnent.

The ice on our lake just went out 2 days ago so it is chilly here too, but we had some things to get done so left early.

Glad we didn't get what ND got, the area near where we grew up got 33 inches of snow the last couple of days.

Steve, I am not familiar with the Facebook page, and I searched on FB but didn't come up with a Barth page. What is it?

I just made a reservation for the Indiana BGT and assuming nothing comes up we will be there. There were not too many people signed up which surprised me.

Tom Johns and my Foretravel have a Smart Wheel. I'll try to post a picture of the controls. I know it has a flasher for the headlights and another one for the marker lights. It has the wiper controls and cruise control. And yes the cruise control can be used to set different idle speeds. Normal idle on the Cummins is about 650. Using the cruise control it can be adjusted to about 850 or 1050.

Remember when you and I looked at ours . Yours looks the same as mine but mine does not have the fast idle option. Bobs wheel is likely the same as mine. The troubleshooting guide lists all the functions and fast idle is not listed.

My Cruise King can set fast idle anywhere you want it. If you turn the cruise switch on when not in gear, you just bump the resume switch and the idle goes up. Bump and hold, it will go up until you release the switch. Handy for warm up in cool weather. I finally posted a picture of the switches in the previous post here: https://www.barthmobile.com/eve...053921797#4053921797

Cruise King is no longer in business. For some time there was a very nice guy who serviced them but after about ten years he quit so I hope it never fails. I'm not sure what is currently available for our dinosaurs. Newer coaches have electronic systems built in.

Here is a link to the Facebook Barth group. Private group, you must request membership. I don't spend much time there.
