Fuel shut off solenoid on 8.2 Diesel
Hi
I'm replacing the fuel shutoff solenoid on my 1983 Recency and the connector was brittle and fell apart when I disconnected it, I don't know what side of the new connector on the new solenoid is positive. The plastic cover on the solenoid is labeled A and B, but no indication of polarity. Does anybody know if these solenoids are polarity sensitive?

Welcome to Barthmobile!

One wire is probably ground, and so is the solenoid case. With the solenoid installed, use an ohmmeter to check for pin-to-case. One pin should be ground, the other hot. If neither, then it is probably isolated and not polarity sensitive

THANKS
Information was perfect. Checked terminals to case and no continuity found. result , not polarity sensitive. Up and running again. Thanks again for the help. Information that may be useful to others.
If your fuel shutoff goes out on a 8.2 diesel You can remove it and the engine will start and you can use the emergency shut off manual cable to start and kill engine to get you home.
