the query on size of invertor prompts me to suggest led lights to ease the draw. I had my flouresent fail me with a burnt out ballast.I bought 13inch led lights at a boat show for 20 bucks.easily wired up,with low draw results.one tube is enough. The price of led lights are finally going down.I suggest a marine supplier.Wally 34ft monarch-van isle.

forget to mention that the led tube was a direct replacement.they come in various lenths.Faulty ballasts cause fires. This is a good way to prevent.

unfortunately not try your local marine supply many auto-motive supply stores are carrying them now. This is like flat screen tv,s when they first came out regarding availibilty and price. My last Christmas string of led lights cost me 10 bucks for 72 lights. Some things don't make sense.Good luck Rich!

Pretty good selection, Imtra is probably a bit of a premium but will probably have a better warranty http://www.imtra.com/lighting-bulbs-led.htm

The fixtures I want to replace produce 800 lumens (2 12in fluorescent tubes), and 400 lumens (1 plug in "u" shaped fluorescent tube). And most ofthe led "pancake" fixtures or simliiar only produce 300-400 lumens. I dont want new lights to be dimmer so I have not replaced them with LED yet. But.... I just recently found the below place and they produce much more lumens and are reasonable priced also.
