This is an ongoing question. A few or more years back I ordered spring bushings for the Breakaway for all wheels. They sent me 8 bushings for the springs but not the 4 shackle. Now trying to find these parts. I know Ed was working on a source after searching the forums.

So anyone with current part numbers and/or sources.

Also has anyone used the polyethylene replacement bushings.

I've run polyethylene bushings in different 4x4 vehicles and they seem to work fine .

I ran across this article .

Good article.
Thanks for posting.
Replacement poly suspension bushings are a popular modification/improvement for MINI Cooper's. When I had it done, on my generation I MINI, I went with a more resilient poly than owners who want the utmost steering response. I don't know if there are choices of density when it comes to truck/coach suspension bushings.

You will not want to use poly bushings on leaf springs or leaf spring shackles. Bushings are pressed in and are part of the spring retention side to side, for extreme duty as in trucks and RVs I didn't find poly available. Further, I have used poly bushings in race set ups and it is fine, but in many application poly will not work. Any place where the poly is bonded to metal, it will work for awhile but not long depending on the stress applied.

For the spartan chassis Breakaway chassis EC2000 series, the correct aftermarket bushing replacement is:

Dayton RB-135

DO NOT try to order replacement from Spartan!! Their replacement has been changed and is larger in diameter both outer and inner, (now metric) and will not fit. Shackles are also different in their listing you can use but can not be
correctly installed.

Correct aftermarket shackle replacement number:

Dayton 330-375

It includes the RB-135 bushing already installed

Ed. Is there any spring difference on yours because of the different axles? I would guess not but.

I checked that with others that had the Dana 80 rear end and yes the springs are different. Mine is rated at 13,500 lbs where the earlier were rated at 12,000 lbs. The "U" bolts are bigger in diameter and has an offset shape because the Eaton rear end on mine has a different mounting platform than the Dana 80.

Also the front on mine is rated at 6,500 lbs vs. 6,000 lbs. Same thing here, "U" bolts are bigger in diameter

I got drawings from Spartan and none of them matched what I have. Spartan's comment was that springs are often changed by the end user. The bushings and shackles are the same.

I had front springs rebuilt by Betts Springs, probably have rear rebuilt next summer.

The poly bushings are polyurethane, not polyethylene. For most applications the leader in the bushing industry is Energy Suspension Inc.
