I was trying to check the oil on my 1992 breakaway front bearings but couldn't get the Crome wheel covers off is there a secret to it.anyone know thanks

I don't have a breakaway, but to remove my hub caps I have to remove the lug nut caps that have small indents in them they screw onto the studs themselves . It won't remove the actual wheel lug nut , just the Crome outer peace.

Try search for HUB CAP REMOVAL lots of good info there.

On our wheel covers there is a small disc in the centre of the hub that is removable with a small pry (like a screw driver)
