I did not see in the pictures what the reason for replacement is.

Worn out I think. Outside latch half open. Inside latch falls down. Likes to lock me in.

From the photo I can't see any worn parts. I would clean it with some brake cleaner let it dry and lubricate every thing with some spray can white lithium grease. It will spay out a little thin then thicken up.

Make sure you frame strike is aligned properly. If it doesn't let the latch bolt drop in it cause the handle to be loose. Make sure the area between the cam and plate are well lubricated.

Will give this a try. Cheaper than a new lock ($300.00).

Should the frame strike be adjustable?

I have found that our handles will be loose if the latch is not fully ingaging behind the door latch/striker(??). Have also found that the little compression springs get weak--- we will be looking for replacements this fall.

Should be able to adjust strike. I have a dead bolt on ours so I don't use this one for security.

I replaced mine on my '95 Barth Soverign last week with the Trimark lock set. It was about $100.00

I returned the Bauer lock set because the Trimark was a far better lock.

Do you have a link to this item? Does it fit in the same hole as the BARGMAN latch?

I just bought it from our new local Camping World. If your lock has the two Pins, and the dead bolt is on the top, then it should work.

They do make a left and right hand lock.

My door hinges are on the right, and the lock is on the left side of the door.

Are you happy with the Trimark lock?

Yes, much happier with the Trimark Lock...it is much more secure, and much better made from what I could tell.

It does have 2 separate keys, one for the latch, and one for the deadbolt.

I was thinking about an automatic remote lock, but I would have to take my door apart for that, and the Bauer keypad lock is just china junk.
