We made our first long trip this week . It was just a one night stay . We took my dad to visit his sister in South Texas for her 96th birthday . Round trip was about 500 miles . The coach performed pretty well . Unfortunately the sevier storms were close enough to give us some high winds . Then we ran into a cold front in the open country where the ranches are and the wind was trying to blow us off the road . I felt the coach leaning a few times as I had to fight the steering wheel to keep us straight . I was worn out by the time we arrived at the rv park . The coach pulled the trailer with the Jeep just fine . I am looking forward to a transmission upgrade to an overdrive .
The ham radio setup worked great both mobile and stationary .
Don't really care for the Dometic Kyawatt propane generator . It was noisy and smelly . Will definitely be an upgrade in the future .
Passengers windshield wiper caught a strong gust of wind and quit working . I haven't troubleshot it yet .

The drive home was much better . Light wind and cooler weather . No need to run the generator and no rain .

All in all it was a good trip . Next trip is planned for May 24th , a three day trip to visit friends in Arkansas .

Installed the 50 amp Progressive Industries EMS yesterday . We hard wired it in and mounted on the back wall of the shoreline compartment . It turned out pretty nice .

The roof air conditioners weren't getting cold enough . The compressors would kick off too soon on the coldest settings . Both ac's have the manual thermostat on the unit . I removed them , found the adjustment and dialed them in . Front now cools to about 62 degrees on coldest setting and over 80 degrees on warmest . The rear air will hold at 65 degrees on coldest , I decided that was good Smiler

Also bought some "totes" to store the fresh water , dump hoses and other items . Each one is color coded per use and fits the compartment nicely .

Harold did you mount the display for the EMS at the power bay or inside? I also did the permanent and wired at the back side of the power bay. I like it.

What air conditioners do you have? I got remote thermostats for my Atwood’s as did Ed and Steve. Ed started the ball rolling on that project and made a significant difference.

The display is in the unit , I didn't get the remote mounted one .

The air conditioners are Dometics . They are on the noisy side , so we will probably change them out in a year or so . Remote mounted thermostats would be better and we will probably go that route later .

I would post pictures , but they are too big Smiler

Lots to do before our next trip coming up in September.
Mechanic
New refrigerator to install .
Install new converter/charger .
Install new inverter .
Install new breaker box and breakers that work with the new inverter .
Install the 4g lte modem/router with outside mimo antenna .
Repair the fuel system on the generator .
Remove the leveling jacks...won't stay up , and when they are up they hang down too much for my taste .
Install the electric fireplace .

We can do this Tooling Along

You can get retaining springs for your jacks. I sure would miss having them.

I agree with Gary on the jacks. Our current Barth has them & I have to say they are a luxury. Maneuvering under it with out jacks is difficult for me. Flipping a switch is worth their weight in gold.

I agree with you that when they are stored up the clearance is affected I think about 3-4"'s. But the convenience far outweighs them not being there for me.

I am still dealing with cruise wiring issues. I think I'm getting close to solving.

Have fun!

The new breaker box , inverter and converter/ charger are installed .
All are Progressive Dynamics brand . The breaker box has a sub-panel that is powered by the 2000 watt inverter . The inverter has an automatic transfer switch witch allows the shoreline or generator power to flow through and power the whole breaker box .
The battery charger has the Charge Wizard to keep from overcharging the batteries .
All is good Smiler

The 4g lte antenna is installed as well as the 2 meter ham antenna mount . I capped the refrigerator vent hole with a metal plate and mounted the antennas there .
Next will be the new apartment size residential refrigerator .
