Alternative Generator: WEN 56200i
While I don't boondock often, and the Honda EV-4010 in the Barth is quiet and economical, many times all I need to run are the TV/Satellite, lights, laptop, and reefer. The same goes for the house, where I have a 5KW backup generator that still, after 20 years, starts easily and has been trouble-free.

I don't have a backup for the travel trailer parked at my place in GA, so one for that was on my wish list. While this unit will stay at the house, it'll go with me in the truck to GA, and in the Barth on the road.

When woot.com had this one, new on sale for $384 shipped, I bit.

It has a few features I like: 4-stroke engine, inverter circuitry, eco setting, and low noise (at 61db, only a bit more than the $1000 Honda 2000i).

Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we're not.
In either case the idea is quite staggering.
